First visit expectations
Welcome to Essential Balance!
What To Expect With Your First VisitYou may have some trepidation about acupuncture and/or making changes to your current nutrition. In an effort to alleviate any nervousness you may feel, below describes what you can expect during the first visit, followed by answers to some of our most Frequently Asked Questions.
Upon your arrival, we take a moment to greet you and offer you water as you settle in. If you are visiting us for Nutritional Guidance, you will work with either Eileen or Kirsten. If you are looking for an Acupuncture or Cupping treatment, you would work with Eileen.
Once introductions are done, we collect your personal contact information. We then take the time to discuss your personal Health History with you, instead of having you fill out an intake form. We find that by talking about your issues with you directly, we can discern your most prominent concerns efficiently. We ask a variety of health questions based on Traditional Chinese Medicine, with specific questions regarding the main body systems.
If you are looking for nutritional guidance, we continue with questions and discussion around your current food habits. If you are having an acupuncture session or another form of treatment, we will explain what parts of the body will be addressed and why. For us, it is important that you understand our assessment of your current health and our plan to get you back to full vitality. Either way, during the session we will explain how this relates back to your main concerns and health goals.
At the end of the session, payment will be accepted and you will receive a receipt, which you can submit to your extended health care provider for reimbursement, or use at tax time.
If you have any questions about the process, please contact us to schedule a free 10-minute phone consult.
